What to do When Feeling Fearful
Living with a fearful mindset is a choice. Just like the other choices we can make like choosing to have a good day, having a positive mindset, we can choose to not live in fear.
I found that waiting for a diagnosis can bring a lot of fear. That is especially true if you think you have an autoimmune disorder and then you Google it. There is an abundance of information about autoimmune disorders, but I think we tend to focus on the worst case scenarios instead of just reading the information and then turning off the computer. Thinking about the “what ifs” can bring up all sorts of negative thoughts. Focusing on the wrong things especially when you haven’t had a diagnosis isn’t going to do you any good at all.
Once you are given a diagnosis, then focus on learning more about it.
7 Scriptures for When You are Feeling Fearful
There are many promises in the Bible that are given to us when we are feeling fearful. Here are my top seven.
27 “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give you. I give to you not as the world gives. Don’t be troubled or afraid.
34 Therefore, stop worrying about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
19 When my anxieties multiply,
your comforting calms me down.
3 whenever I’m afraid,
I put my trust in you—
4 in God, whose word I praise.
I trust in God; I won’t be afraid.
What can mere flesh do to me?
1 John 4:18
18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear expects punishment. The person who is afraid has not been made perfect in love.
13 I am the Lord your God,
who grasps your strong hand,
who says to you,
Don’t fear; I will help you.
6 Be strong! Be fearless! Don’t be afraid and don’t be scared by your enemies, because the Lord your God is the one who marches with you. He won’t let you down, and he won’t abandon you.
