Who could use some encouragement? I know I need to be encouraged every now and again.
Living with autoimmune disorders or any other illness that affects our health and our well being can cause us to feel down and out. We all need to be reminded that we are not walking through our valleys alone. So, today I thought I would bring encouragement to you guys in case any of you who are reading this need a little boost.
7 Verses for Encouragement
1 Thessalonians 5:11 Common English Bible (CEB)
11 So continue encouraging each other and building each other up, just like you are doing already.
Do you see instruction in the verse? We are to continue encouraging each other! We need to be lifting each other up continually. Be sincere in your encouragement!
John 14:27 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
27 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
I love that! Peace I leave with you. Jesus doesn’t give us peace and then remove it from us. We are the ones who lose focus and forget that we have been given peace. The peace the world brings is a temporary and fleeting peace.
I remember the song, “I’ve Got Peace Like a River.” Picture that. A peaceful lazy river surrounded by trees that are swaying in the wind. You can hear the birds singing and maybe catch a fish coming to the surface of the water. That’s the kind of peace I want.
1 Peter 5:7 Common English Bible (CEB)
7 Throw all your anxiety onto him, because he cares about you.
Isn’t it wonderful and that we can take all of our stress and anxiety and put it at the feet of Jesus? He is more than willing to take that burden from you and me. He can take and replace it with the peace that we cannot understand.
Psalm 119:50 Contemporary English Version (CEV)
50 When I am hurting,
I find comfort in your promise
that leads to life.
Isn’t that the truth!
Psalm 120:1 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
120 I was in trouble. I called to the Lord for help, and he answered me!
I love being able to call on the Lord no matter what storm is swirling around me. And yes, he will answer. It may not be that minute, hour or the same day, but he will answer. His answer may be yes, no or not yet. His answer is truth and his timing is perfect.
Jeremiah 29:11 Common English Bible (CEB)
11 I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the Lord; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope.
This became my life verse last year. I love knowing that the God who created the earth, sun, moon and stars, is thinking about me. He wants good things for me. And he says that my future is filled with hope.
I hope that you have found encouragement in these seven verses. If you have a favorite verse that you lean on for encouragement, please share it in the comment section below.
