June 10th Herbs and Spices Day and Iced Tea Day

Two great days rolled into one!

First lets talk about herbs and spices. Now I just blogged the other day about getting you exercise from gardening, so how about growing your own herbs and spices?

Not only are herbs and spices necessary to enhance the flavor of our food, but they are loaded with health benefits.

Herbs and Spices Day

Here is a list of 9 herbs and spices and their health benefits.

Cinnamon – Lowers blood sugar levels. It helps lower blood pressure.

Iced Tea Day

I love ice tea! I like to drink it plain. I don’t need sugar or sweeteners, I like to drink when I need a break from water.

Did you know that, approximately 85 per cent of the tea consumed in America is iced.

I just listed the healing properties of herbs and spices, so let’s turn our attention to theses five herbal teas and their healthy benefits.

Green Tea

  • Helps boost metabolism for weight loss.
  • Antioxidants for fighting cancer and heart disease.

Chamomile Tea

  • Helps promote sleep.
  • Boosts the immune system.
  • Helps relieve stress

Mint Tea

  • Helps relieve stress
  • Clears sinuses
  • Helps relieve a sore throat

Lemon Verbena Tea

Develop a taste for new spices to add to your favorite dishes. Try a new iced tea. You may find a new healthy drink that will boost your health.
